past. It aims to entertain the reader and often gives a moral lesson.

- Orientation
Introduces the characters, setting, and time. - Complication

Narrative
text usually uses:
- Past tense (went, saw, helped)
- Action verbs (ran, cried, fought)
- Time
conjunctions (once upon a
time, then, suddenly)
- Direct speech (said, asked)

The
Lost Necklace
- Orientation
Once upon a time, there was a kind girl named Lina who lived in a small
village. She loved her mother very much and always helped her at home. One
morning, Lina went to the market to buy some vegetables.
- Complication
On her way home, Lina realized that her mother’s necklace was missing. She felt
scared and sad because the necklace was very valuable. Lina walked back to the
market and searched everywhere, but she could not find it.
- Resolution
Suddenly, a woman called Lina and showed her the necklace. The woman said she
had found it on the road. Lina thanked her happily and promised to be more
careful next time.
- Re-orientation/Moral
Lina returned home and gave the necklace to her mother. Her mother smiled and
hugged her. From that day on, Lina learned to be more careful and responsible
with important things.
