Descriptive text is a text that describes a person, place, animal, or thing in detail so the reader can imagine it clearly.

The purpose of descriptive text is:

• To describe something specifically
• To give detailed information about a subject

   Introduces the object, person, or place being described.
2. Description
   Describes the characteristics, such as appearance, qualities, or parts.

4. Language Features

Descriptive text usually uses:

• Simple Present Tense
• Adjectives (beautiful, big, cute)
• Specific nouns (my cat, Borobudur Temple)
• Relational verbs (is, has)

My Cat

Identification:
I have a cat at home. His name is Milo. He is my favorite pet because he is cute, friendly, and always stays near me.

Description:
Milo has soft, thick white fur that feels very smooth when I touch it. His eyes are big and brown, and they shine brightly in the light. He has a small nose, short legs, and a long fluffy tail. His body is not very big, but he looks clean and healthy.

Milo is playful and energetic. He likes running around the house and chasing small toys. In the afternoon, he usually sleeps on the sofa or under the table. Every morning, Milo follows me and asks for food. He is a smart and lovely cat.

I love Milo very much because he makes me feel happy and relaxed. When I am tired, playing with Milo helps me feel better. He is not only my pet but also my best friend at home.
